Thomas A. Perkins III It appears that the function of the sticky tape is to try to make up for this VERY POOR design. However
As seen in previous reviews, there is some type of very sticky foam tape that protrudes radially from the base of the sensor see attached photo . It prevented me from detaching the sensor from the base until I distorted the base enough to release one side. I removed the excess tape with a razor blade but then discovered that the fit of the sensor into the base is such a close depth tolerance that I had to buy flush headed bolts. Even after this the sensor wants to fall from the base. It appears that this is because the tits on the sensor shown in the photo just don t protrude far enough radially to ensure a solid engagement. It appears that the function of the sticky tape is to try to make up for this VERY POOR design. However, the tape just makes the fit less sure. I am making a wall mounting so I, see if the sensor falls out of the base. I would definitely be returning it if this were a ceiling mount - again as mentioned in other reviews. Bottomline the manufacturer needs to fix his design

Amazon often offers 75% and better discounts, yet it directs people to other, higher profit margin products instead. There's a geeky way to manipulate Amazon's web links to display all heavily-reduced bargains. All you need to do is fiddle with Amazon web addresses to bring up lists of knock-down prices. The problem is these are a faff to make yourself. So we built the Amazon Hidden Discount Finder tool (below).
